Note: The Daily Express literary editor who adapted CASINO ROYALE was Anthony Hern (not Hearne as stated in the typo in this article). Two further original stories written by Jim Lawrence (Flittermouse and Polestar [aborted after just eight weeks, but completed for later syndication] were printed in the Daily Star in 1983 after this article was first published. Three more original stories (The Scent of Danger illustrated by John McLusky, followed by Snake Goddess and Double Eagle illustrated by Yaroslav Horak) were syndicated outside the UK in 1983/84. |
