Charitable Works

007 MAGAZINE & Archive (formerly The JBIFC) is frequently approached by a variety of charities, to whom in the past we have donated quantities of 007 MAGAZINE for resale.

Our first venture in this area was the provision of a guide dog named ‘Moneypenny’ (named after actress Lois Maxwell’s screen character), and the £1,000 required was raised for Guide Dogs For The Blind as a direct result of our 1993 Christmas lunch held at Pinewood Studios.

(BELOW) The new desks, which cost £5 each, are appreciated so much that each is inscribed with the donor’s name by Watamu School.

Other projects have included Watamu Primary School in Kenya. Donations from 007 MAGAZINE and its subscribers have provided desks for two of the ten classrooms. This finance means 140 children are now able to take lessons seated at desks instead of on the concrete floor; some underprivileged students also now have the mandatory simple school uniform, costing £9 each.
