Shaken, not
stirred...the 16th ILAB Breslauer Prize for Bibliography was awarded
to Jon Gilbert for his groundbreaking work about the author of the
James Bond novels, ‘Ian Fleming: The Bibliography’. Gilbert's magnum
opus covers every aspect of Ian Fleming’s writings, and it provides
his readers with all there is to possibly know about Ian Fleming and
his works. Fleming's books comprise much more than just the thrilling
stories about the famous secret agent 007, whose love of sexy girls,
dangerous duties in Her Majesty's secret service and a vodka martini
is legendary.
Jon Gilbert, a renowned book dealer at rare book experts Adrian
Harrington Limited in London, received the Prize worth $10,000 from
ILAB Prize Secretary Arnoud Gerits, ILAB President Tom Congalton, and
jury member Jean-Marc Chatelain (Bibliothèque Nationale de France) who
honoured the work and its author with a brilliant speech.
“A brilliant work and an award richly deserved!”
