JAMES BOND IS BACK! Way back in the mid-Seventies when the Bond films were first shown on British TV exclusively by ITV, each screening was heralded as a major entertainment event. Not only did the covers of the TV TIMES feature Bond, but there were often major articles featured inside with specially commissioned illustrations. When the Bond films were first announced to be up for sale to TV in the UK it created a real storm among the cinema industry causing great concern regarding falling attendance in cinemas, as industry and newspaper reports showed. How times have changed! |
