Limited Edition art print – James Bond
and ‘physical therapist’ Patricia Fearing
50 years ago on December
29th 1965 – Thunderball – ‘The Biggest Bond of All’ was unleashed
on the world at its simultaneous star-studded world premiere at the London
Pavilion and the Rialto cinemas in London’s West End – and the Bond
bonanza of the 1960s was in full swing! The fourth Bond film in the series
boasted a superb advertising poster campaign with illustrative posters by
American fine artists Robert McGinnis and Frank C. McCarthy (1924-2002).
Only five of a variety of artworks they produced for Thunderball
were eventually used in the UK and US poster campaigns, while others, for
various reasons, were dropped.
