Most of the early James Bond films released in the US also had a banner poster produced. Banners ranged in size from 24" X 30" to 84" X 120", but the James Bond posters were all printed at 24" X 82", with the exception of From Russia With Love which was 24" x 60". Although produced by the National Screen Service, banners were not advertised in the US Pressbooks for the films. |

The banner format continued with The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) [20" X 59"] and Moonraker (1979) [21" X 60"] (advertised in the US Exhibitors’ Pressbook as a ‘streamer’), with two sets of four full colour posters. The Spy Who Loved Me was initially advertised with advance banners promoting an Autumn release, which was subsequently brought forward to Summer, therefore two sets of these posters were issued in 1977. They are identical apart from the amended date text (examples from both sets are illustrated below). |

Also produced by the National Screen Service for the promotion of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) was a satin banner (24" X 108", gold fringed and grommeted). Advertised in the United Artists Pressbook as a ‘Satin Marquee Valance’, the banner was intended for use indoors in advance of the opening, and outdoors during the theatrical run of the film. |
