For every official
general release or re-release of the James Bond films in the US from
1963-1985, an insert poster (14" X 36") was produced for cinema displays
and advertising purposes. These colourful and highly stylised posters are
now collectors items and command high prices when sold at auction.
In keeping with other
sized original release posters Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and
Live And Let Die (1973) had inserts produced for the international
market [not pictured] featuring the contractual reversal of the producers
credits. For Your Eyes Only (1981) also had an alternate insert
poster issued for the international market utilising the Brian Bysouth
artwork. Insert posters generally
used a cropped version of the same artwork featured on the 1-sheet
poster, but sometimes opted for alternate art which was better suited to
the slimmer dimensions. Insert posters stopped being produced in the early
1980s. |
