BEHIND-THE-SCENES: NEW AND RETURNING FACES - In addition to its diverse international cast,
GoldenEye (1995) was produced by an equally talented crew –
most of whom had worked on earlier films in the Bond series. (1)
Director Martin Campbell would return to the franchise with
Casino Royale in 2006, and introduced the sixth James Bond,
Daniel Craig. (2) Martin Campbell's regular cinematographer Phil
Méheux [pictured far right holding light meter] also returned as Director of
Photography on Casino Royale (2006). (3) Peter Lamont
[photographed on the backlot at Leavesden Studios during filming
of the St. Petersburg Tank chase] joined the series as a
draughtsman on Goldfinger (1964), and progressed to become
the James Bond series’ regular Production Designer with For You
Eyes Only (1981) - ending his Bond career with Casino
Royale (2006). (4) Barbara Broccoli [pictured left with Pierce
Brosnan] joined her half-brother Michael G. Wilson [pictured
right] as Co-Producer of the James Bond films with GoldenEye
(1995). (5) Miniature Effects Supervisor Derek Meddings [pictured
right] joined the series with
Live And Let Die (1973) and worked on the next five James Bond
films, returning on GoldenEye (1995) which would be his
final film. He died on September 10, 1995, two months before the
release of GoldenEye (1995) which is dedicated to his
memory. (6) Stuntman Wayne Michaels [left] performed the
spectacular bungee jump off the Contra Dam in Switzerland
for the pre-credit sequence of GoldenEye (1995). Simon
Crane had joined the series as a stuntman on A View To A Kill
(1985) and was overall Stunt Co-ordinator for GoldenEye
and The World Is Not Enough (1999). Both Wayne Michaels and
Simon Crane also appear [uncredited] in GoldenEye (1995) as
the two Tiger Helicopter Pilots killed by Xenia Onatopp in Monaco
as she steals their aircraft. |
