John McLaughlin, known to
all as “Big John”, has died at the age of 93. John was a deep sea diver,
marine engineer, underwater cinematographer, marine mammal trainer, coast
guard certified master diver, demolition instructor, and deep sea salvage
for the U.S. Navy. He was also a stunt performer and underwater cameraman and worked on
the following James Bond films: Dr. No (1962), Goldfinger
(1964), Thunderball (1965) [as dive-master and underwater double
for Adolfo Celi], You Only Live Twice (1967), Live And Let Die
(1973), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979),
For Your Eyes Only (1981) and Licence To Kill (1989). John
worked with Sean Connery again in his 1983 comeback as James Bond
Never Say Never Again. A
