SWATCH announce six new Limited Edition James Bond watches plus ‘Q’s own timepiece ahead of No Time To Die

New Limited Edition SWATCH collection

Swiss Watchmaker SWATCH have announced seven new watches ahead of the release of the new James Bond film No Time To Die starring Daniel Craig as 007.

Six of the new timepieces draw their design inspiration from classic James Bond film posters representing each actor to play 007. These include Dr No, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Moonraker, Licence To Kill, The World Is Not Enough and Casino Royale.

Although none of the watches actually features the name of each film, they do offer enough clues about their cinematic origins.

For example, a space shuttle arcs its way across the dial of the Moonraker watch, whereas the Casino Royale model borrows its playing card-inspired design from the film’s opening credits designed by Daniel Kleinman.

Each watch also features a 007 logo on the strap retainer, and in the case of the On Her Majesty’s Secret Service model also on the date display (the only one of the watches to have a date feature).

The seventh new SWATCH James Bond inspired watch is yet to be unveiled. It has been designed alongside Suttirat Anne Larlarb, costume designer for No Time To Die, and will only to be offered in limited numbers.

The watch features in the upcoming film and is worn by ‘Q’, played by Ben Whishaw.

The Swatches are housed in retro VHS video style packaging and will be available from late February. No Time To Die opens cinemas in the UK on 2nd April, followed by the US release on April 10, 2020.

The new SWATCH timepieces follow on from their 2002 leather-cased collection celebrating the 40th anniversary of James Bond in the cinema; and the 2008 ‘007 Villains Collection’ featuring 22 special themed models representing the villains from each film in the official series.
