A significant sale of just under 1,800 lots from over 500 films and television shows, including 80 lots featuring important items from the James Bond films 1962-2021.

Listed below are some of the more significant James Bond related items, many of which have never been offered in auction before. Several items unsold in the 2022 auction are offered again this year.

DAY 1 - November 9, 2023

Lot #209 Dr. No (1962) Honey Ryder's Bathrobe

Lot #209 Dr. No (1962) Honey Ryder's Bathrobe

After being apprehended and taken to Dr. No's compound, James Bond (Sean Connery) and Honey Ryder were put through a decontamination process, given blue robes, and shown to rooms that were prepared for them.

This three-quarter-length robe is made of a pale blue towelling material and features a blue plastic flower-shaped button at the collar. Accompanying the robe is a black & white glossy still of Ursula Andress wearing the robe and a typed and hand-signed letter of authenticity from Maggie Lewin, wardrobe assistant for Rank Films. In the letter, Lewin states that whilst working at Pinewood Studios in 1962 on another production, the wardrobe mistress of Dr. No, Eileen Sullivan, borrowed and repurposed Lewin's robe for use in the Bond film. This was then returned to her after filming was complete. The robe exhibits areas of brown staining from production use.

Additional Provenance: This lot was originally sold for £8,225 in CHRISTIE'S 2001 James Bond auction.
Estimate: £70,000 - £140,000 SOLD FOR £87,500

Lot #213 Licence To Kill (1989) James Bond's Stunt Walther PPK Pistol

Lot #213 Licence To Kill (1989) James Bond's Stunt Walther PPK Pistol

James Bond's (Timothy Dalton) stunt Walther PPK pistol from Licence To Kill (1989). Bond used his signature Walther PPK throughout the film during his pursuit of drug lord Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi). The second and final of the films to star Dalton as Bond, Licence To Kill featured a notably darker tone than previous Bond films, a controversial departure in style that divided fans and critics initially, but has since been called ahead of its time, a precursor to the darker Daniel Craig films.

Moulded from a real Walther PPK with serial number “348075K” that was rented to the production, this rubber stunt pistol featuring serial number “348075K” is painted black with brown grips and a small plastic magazine. It is hand-marked “S” for Stembridge Gun Rentals, the armourers from whom this pistol was originally acquired for the film, in black marker near the trigger.

Also included are a copy of the original Stembridge rental paperwork listing a PPK with serial number “348075K” and dated “Aug 29 1988”; a letter regarding Stembridge's armourers from production supervisor Anthony Waye to Stembridge head Syd Stembridge typewritten on stationery labelled “License Revoked,” the film's original title; a corresponding “License Revoked” envelope; a Certificate of Authenticity from Atlantic Traders Group; and a colour-printed production still of Bond wielding his pistol. The pistol exhibits some chipping throughout. Dimensions: 18 cm X 11.5 cm X 3.25 cm (7" X 4.5" X 1.25").
Estimate: £10,000 - £20,000 SOLD FOR £12,500

Lot #214 GoldenEye (1995) James Bond's Finale Vest and Shirt

James Bond's (Pierce Brosnan) finale vest and shirt from GoldenEye (1995). Bond wore his vest and shirt throughout the film's Cuban-set finale as he and Natalya (Izabella Scorupco) infiltrated Alec Treveleyan's (Sean Bean) facility and reprogrammed the GoldenEye satellite weapon.

This lot comprises a green cotton Timberland® shirt (size XL) and a khaki utility vest with multiple front pockets and a quilted interior lining. There are some light areas of discolouration on the shirt and minor thread pulls to the back of the vest from production use.

Lot #215 Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) James Bond's Ericsson JB988 Gadget Mobile Phone

Lot #215 Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) James Bond's Ericsson JB988 Gadget Mobile Phone

James Bond's (Pierce Brosnan) Ericsson JB988 gadget mobile phone from Tomorrow Never Dies (1997). Q branch issued a modified Ericsson mobile phone to James Bond, which he used for various purposes throughout the film.

Ericsson made 12 versions of the fictional Ericsson JB988 for production. Four were seen on screen, each with a different unique function. One had a light-up screen to demonstrate the phone's fingerprint scanner; one included ejecting taser prongs; one had a detachable antenna that served as a lock pick; and the last version flipped open to provide a remote control for Bond's car.

This phone is the latter version, which flips open on a hinge revealing a screen and touchpad, allowing Bond to drive his BMW 750iL remotely. Made primarily of resin, the phone is finished in silver and black paint, and features static buttons decorated with decals. The front and interior screens each comprise clear plastic windows set over printed paper images; the front image depicts a home screen, and the interior is a blurred image from the scene where Bond escapes Dr. Kaufman's (Vincent Schiavelli) henchmen in a multi-storey car park. The live display seen on the touchpad screen in the film was applied in post-production using visual effects.

The lot comes presented in a foam-lined carry case with a plaque providing a description of the phone. It exhibits wear to the paint and decals, as well as areas of discolouration from production use as age. Dimensions (phone): 15.5 cm X 5.5 cm X 2.5 cm (6 1/4" X 2 1/4" X 1").
Estimate: £10,000 - £20,000 WITHDRAWN

The weapon exhibits some bubbling in the resin and has some visible repair lines where the scope and bolt lever had previously become unattached. Dimensions: 99.5 cm X 34 cm X 8 cm (39 1/4" X 13 1/2" X 3 1/4").

The costume consists of a black tuxedo jacket; black tuxedo trousers; a white dress shirt; a black bowtie, and black suspenders. The jacket, shirt and trousers all feature internal labels featuring Craig's name and additional product information, and the jacket also features a label in the inside right pocket with “Daniel Craig Bond 25” embroidered onto it. The jacket is also labelled “Pair 4”. All items are Tom Ford except for the suspenders, which are T.M. Lewin. The tuxedo is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from EON.
