On December 5th Ian Fleming Publications will be hosting a festive
celebration of Bond, marking not only 70 years of 007 and the 60th

Higson's new Bond adventure.
The event will be
held at the Everyman Broadgate cinema in London, and will begin with a
conversation between Charlie Higson and IFPL Publishing Director Simon
Ward, discussing Charlie's new book, ON HIS MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE.
This will be followed by a screening of the 1969 film On Her
Majesty's Secret Service, starring George Lazenby as James Bond.

Ian Fleming's
James Bond novels edited to remove racist content
After the recent controversy concerning
the editing of children's author Roald Dahl's works, it is now the
turn of Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels to be rewritten.
A report in UK newspaper The Telegraph reveals that ahead of
the reissue of the James Bond novels in April to mark 70 years
of CASINO ROYALE, the first book in the series, rights holders Ian
Fleming Publications Ltd commissioned a review by sensitivity readers.
Each book will carry the disclaimer, “This book was written at a time
when terms and attitudes which might be considered offensive by modern
readers were commonplace. A number of updates have been made in this
edition, while keeping as close as possible to the original text and
the period in which it is set.”

17 February 2023
71 years ago, on
February 17, 1952, Ian Fleming sat down at his typewriter in ‘Goldeneye’,
Jamaica, and began writing

stories’.
To mark this anniversary, Ian Fleming Publications announced that
new eBook versions of all 14 of his classic James Bond adventures (as
well as Ian Fleming’s two non-fiction titles
Thrilling Cities
and The Diamond
Smugglers) are now available within the UK at all good eBook
retailers.
For now, the eBooks
are being distributed with holding covers, ahead of the official new

In celebration of CASINO ROYALE turning 70 this year, Ian Fleming
Publications shared their brand new logo.
Published on 13 April
1953 CASINO ROYALE was
the first James Bond book, and it paved the way for a further eleven
novels and two short story collections by Ian Fleming; followed by
numerous continuation Bond novels and spin-offs by other authors,
starting on 1968 with the publication of
COLONEL SUN by Kingsley
Amis (writing under the pseudonym Robert Markham). In 2021 Ian Fleming
Publications announced a new series of novels not featuring James Bond as the
main character, but instead introducing readers to a new generation of
Double-O agents. Written by Kim Sherwood, the first novel in the series
was titled DOUBLE OR NOTHING
and published in September 2022. |

IAN FLEMING PUBLICATIONS Holiday Message
The original Bond
adventures, plus Ian’s non-fiction titles, will be published as paperbacks
for the first time under our own imprint in April 2023, celebrating the
70th anniversary of CASINO ROYALE. We hope that these new editions will
not only be must-haves for our dedicated fans but also become the entry
point for new fans and the paperbacks that become the first, cherished
copies on their burgeoning bookshelves. The covers for these are a closely
guarded secret for now, but we can say that we are delighted to be working
with our old friends, the immensely talented Webb & Webb team, on the
designs. Look out for them in the new year. Other editions are in the
pipeline, all of which will offer something new and different, and which
we can’t wait to start working on.
